Ranks & Meanings:
Lead Stallion: This horse is always the first horse to eat and drink. No other horses are allowed to invade his personal space during the epic hour of feeding. If another horse comes near his food, he will pin his ears in warning. If the other horse doesn't back off immediately, then further punishment will result from the leader. (Kicking, biting, lunging etc..) The leader also has to protect and defend the herd. That is his responsibility. He always has to remain alert and be prepared to risk his life for the safety of the herd.
Lead Mare:
She is the mate of the lead stalion. She is no less or no more then then the lead stalion although when in danger she leads the other mares and stallions off to safety as the lead stalion stands and fights.
Betta Stallion:
These stallions are protecting the rear of the herd and warn the lead stalion of possible threats and danger. They are allowed to have mates outside the herd. Only 2-3 or even 4 stallions hold this position. They sometimes help herd the herd but often most go to help the Lead stallion leaving only one or two stallions to protect the herd and mares from stealing young stallions.
Beta Mare:
She is next in line to become Lead Mare. Often seen observing, copying, helping, and near the lead mare. Only one mare holds this position and is often a mate to a betta stalion or unmated mare who is focusing on becoming the next in charge. She does help the herd when they need it or if they need herding or even guide the herd.
Herb:
These horses have learned the ways of herbs and knows how to use them and find them. Mostly mares there are only 4 slots open in a herd. They help the Lead mare, beta stallion, and beta mare herd confused, startled, and scared members of the herd towards safety.
Elders: They are the oldest and wisest horses in the herd often giving advise to younger horses. They sometimes tell stories to foals, herd-mates/members,or even the whole herd. Elders sometimes are put her due to health problems or injuries, or unhealing wounds.
Subordinates:
These horses consist of mostly mares but some stallios are present. They are the normal ranking horses in a herd.
Care Givers:These horses take care of young foals or colts, by adopting them. They are evenly ranked with subordinates. Mares and stalions can join this rank of only 2-5 horses. They also watch and find missing young horses. They are very helpful and nice towards younger horses and will protect them with your life.
Youngin's:
These are horses that are younger than 3years old. They are in care of a Care Giver or their own parents.
Food:
Lots of food is available just as water is also, with many streams and creeks. Fruit grows in the warmer seasons including berries.
Joining:
If interested in joining the herd? Then Role Play with Paradise in his claimed land.
Males will have to do a test while mares are accepted automatically once they enter his domain and are found by Paradise. Even if they run they still belong to the herd.
